GATS was my first proper introduction to the Maniacs(!) after seeing their now infamous performance of "Faster" on TOTP. The Holy Bible wasn't out yet and i wanted more, and since this was the first album i spotted i bought it. Yes the production is a bit too polished, but the songs are great, more well thought out than the sloganeering of Generation Terrorists (an album i've never warmed to.) In songwriting terms it was a leap forward and a pointer to the next album.
